The Fishing Party (NSW) a good chance of winning in the senate

Wow, isn't this amazing and good for the overall cause of recreational fishing and the politics thereof.

The really cute part is that after years of trying to get himself elected, Bob Smith may have given up his best chance just try to spoil the chances of the "fishing vote" in Qld A TFP guy gets elected in NSW...and it's not Bob Smith Take a DEEP breath and smell the irony!! .

The following is a political blog from respected on line forum "The Poll Bludger"
I have only examined the New South Wales tickets to this point, but this has been enough to make clear that two minor parties which clothe themselves in sanctimony have been playing the lowest political games imaginable.

The first culprit is Family First, which has cut deals with the Liberty and Democracy Party (whose policies include “re-legalisation of recreational marijuana use by adults”) and Pauline Hanson’s new party (representing a strain of right-wing politics from which Family First has always been very keen to distance itself), both of which have been placed higher than Family First’s natural philosophical ally, Fred Nile’s Christian Democratic Party.

The other is the Climate Change Coalition, which has put the Fishing Party higher than everybody except the Democrats and What Women Want. One wonders how those taken in by the Climate Change Coalition brand name would feel if they knew they were voting against the extension of marine parks. There is a very real chance they will end up finding out the hard way – the Fishing Party has been tightly preferenced by a range of right-wing micro parties as well as Family First, which also has them ahead of the CDP. When all these votes are added together, it’s entirely possible that the Greens will be overtaken by the Fishing Party’s Garth Bridge. Throw a Coalition surplus into the mix, and the Fishing Party could very well win a seat that would otherwise have gone to the Greens. I hope Patrice Newell has a good time explaining that one to her fellow travellers on the arts-luvvie cocktail party circuit. And I say all that before I’ve even gotten around to considering the situation in Queensland, where the Climate Change Coalition has put Pauline Hanson ahead of Labor.

All quite a bit of tit for tat going on from all area's. oh thats right we are in an election .

The last line i find funny though. The only party that I WONT put above labour is the greens
Democracy: Simply a system that allows the 51% to steal from the other 49%.

Funny thing happened yesterday. I have been very vocal against Shane Boese and I still think he is a little slimy in the way he conducts himself. However a friend rang who was doing a postal vote and asked if he should vote for Shane and I told him that he should. Anyway there you go Shane at least you got 1 vote. However I will be putting TFP after the greens in the senate. VOTE 1 AFLP

Regardless of all of our differences and the debates going on here anyone who doesnt put the Greens LAST is NOT doing the right thing by Australia.

Bob probably has it written into the constitution that if he doesn't win a seat in Qld, anyone who does win a seat has to hand it over to him

Whatever happens in the election, I think we both agree that it is the fishing vote that is important and we have to do all we can to keep reasonable access to our fishing resources in the future. Even though we have chosen different vehicles towards this end, you - the AFLP and myself the TFP, I thank you for not putting your personal impression of me ahead of the bigger picture.

    Regards Shane Boese
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent genius will not; un-rewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone is omnipotent."
