PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant VBA_SCRIPT - assumed 'VBA_SCRIPT' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in ..../includes/functions_navigation.php(802) : eval()'d code on line 1 Yesterday on the Haughton
Got the boat in at 5:30am. We were not too sure where to go so tried many places some with runs and some with deeper holes. A bit windy and a bit rough in the main channel
Not much biting of legal length. Came home with 55cm Trevor, 36cm Cod and 45cm fl;attie. Caught many undersized cod, grunter and jew fish among a few catfish and a shark. GODS COUNTRY
The few times I have been to the Haughton, its been off Doughboy (the beach ramp thru Kungulla) and we've collected livies off the main ramp in Kungulla. There were a bunch of tree stumps on the northern side where you could usually get some good mullet.
Also, if you shot straight across to the southern bank once in the Haughton itself, there was a good spot for livies and yabbies. That was a few years ago now - I really should fish the Haughton again sometime.... We usually concentrated our effort around the island between Dougboy and the Haughton.
Cheers
Mozza
PS. I was talking to an old timer the other day down at Aplins who was saying at one point that the bait tends to move downstream as the water warms up - it seems the water higher up the river becomes too hot - the same could happen at the Haughton??
