Thread: Jack did me over but still landed one.

Re: Jack did me over but still landed one.

The stingers are 7.50 for a pack of 2, yes theyre not cheap. I will only use them on surface lures, so keep em away from snags.

They are ideal for a livie under a balloon, something I like doing. Or ok for a weightless Sp, particularly one rigged on a worm hook which has a poor hookup rate. These are the only 2 ways Id use em. I do want to get em back.

Compared to all the other things Ive spent money on, they are good value if they work, and a waste if they dont. How much is a jack really worth? Some of us spend a lot of money per fish in lost and useless tackle.

I havent used the stingers yet, but I will report back when I do.

    cheers

Why don't you use a sliding snell with a treble on the end?????
Saves paying $7.50 for 2 trebles!!!!!

Hi Jeff, yes Id considered a sliding snell. Thats fine for fish bigger than 5 inches, and I use that on bigger mullet. The point of this stinger is that the small hook about 2mm long goes in the livies bum or behind the dorsal, so he will stay alive longer. Its ideal for herring that die easily. Im also experimenting with a large Sp on a worm hook, and it keeps getting hit, but not hooking up.

Geoff72, sorry to hijack your thread mate. I'll post a new thread on stingers soon as Ive tested em. As soon as this weather breaks, I'll be out again.

    cheers
