    can somebody please tell me what charts suit a garmin 178c and which are the best

    Benny,
    As far as i know the only chart that will run in the Garmins is the Garmin bluechart.
    I have the same unit and am happy with it.The best item i have for mine is the garmin card reader which allows me to plug the card into my PC with out removing the GPS unit from my boat.I find by having the reader i am more inclined to stay on top of the marks i have entered as i can sit at my PC and type away.

    Yeah I have one as well and 5cougers is right in saying that they use the bluechart.
    If you want the g2 vision you need the new model gps's.

    Bluecharts are the only charts that will work with the 178. The new G2 and G2 Vision charts will no work with the 178.
