G-day Ben. The forcelite and the zillion is one of my favourite rods i own for throwing HB's. The rod model no. is flbsr724c it is rated 10-17lb and is quite soft in the tip to throw some smallish lures but still has a good amount of go down low. Matched up with the zillion it is sooo light and can easily be thrown all day with little fatigue, you hardly even know it is in your hand.
I got the rod from Fishhead in Redland Bay, soon to be Viccy Pt. Duncan carries alot of high end tackle that you will not find in many other places. From memory it cost me $325 maybe a bit more. Not quite sure now. But if your in the market for a rod in this wieght catagory i would recomend having a look at it.

Lido76. Mate the jacks are all through the canals on the goldie. There are some spots that hold better no.s of fish than others but i put it down to putting the lure in the right place. If your lure or hb isnt on the jacks nose they will not move great distances to hit them. Pratice your casting and get em in tight. if my lure is more that half to a foot away i crank in and put in a better cast. As for my no.s this year i think i have 12 so its been a pretty good start, hope it stays this way. Nothin better than getting belted by a jack and seeing the strike is just insane.

i know were to catch those jacks. the back ground was a dead give away whiy-ting!
also i say you used the 5.5 powerbait prawns? do you prefere them over the 4 inch or are you just trying to get the bigger fish?
do you use prawn stars much?
You 2 crack me up. Luv the pink nails. The saturday i missed out on hey. I hope to have one of them red toothy critters on the end of my T Curve/stradic very soon.
G-day mate. I use bigger lures because from my own expirience i belive jacks like a bigger bait. When i use to live bait i found the bigger mullet between 15- 20cm would be most productive sometimes i would use baits up to25-30cm on 30lb gear and get smoked quite a bit. Everyone has their own prefferences but this use to work for me and have just transfered it over to the plastics. Some guys swear by 60mm HB's, i think i only have 1 lure in my jack box under 75mm. In saying that, you put any lure size infront of a jack and 9 times out of 10 he will belt it.

You two have really been fishing too much together,I cant tell you apart
Cheers,Great stuff
cheers.
jack can be dam hard to get sometimes, i have a spot in tweed that i caught alot of jack from last year. the only problem is its pritty clear water.
sometimes the jack wouldnt even look at you lure and other times as soon as it hit the water 3 or 4 of them would come out straight away!
but suprise suprise the smallest jack of the lot would always smack it first!
tried fishin the at almost all stages duribg the day and night.
Breamnut. Try downsizing your leader and throwing more natural patterns in the clear stuff. Try and stick with something silver and shiny even translucent lures work well. othet than that fish in the dark.
