Fridays been Hard

Went out to the Hards today by myself (every other poor bugger had to work). Bagged out on parrot in the first hour and spent the rest of the time throwing back surplus ones. Did get busted off using 80lb braid though. On the next drop I caught an undersize red so I convinced myself it must have been mum on the previous drop. Not a bad day for the first time there.

i looked at ya boat at crawfords, was keen on buying it but my car wasn't suited.

Thanks for leaving me the boat Lippa. I,ve got a dual cab hilux so much to my wifes disgust, I have to tow it with her landcruiser. The boat travels really well, I can travel at a constant 40 km/h in most conditions. (not worth going out if its crappy anyway). It will punch through swell without getting any spray in the boat and very comfortable to ride in. Just love those centre cabs. (Sorry, I'm probably just rubbing it in now). Conditions were good on the way out and while I was fishing but the last 10k's or so into Mooloolaba were a bit lumpy. Always the way. Got to watch the whales get airborne on the way in so it was all worth it.

Nice feed mate, what kind of depth were you in?

I think you will find these fish are venus tusk fish and not parrot fishes, venus tusk fish have the big teeth sticking out and the parrot fish have a beak(hence the name i guess) and its a limit of 6 for venus tusk fish and yeah a limit of 5 for parrot fishes. So you could have kept one more lol

Thanks for the info Astro, I've just always called them the same thing. Theres always next time to keep an extra one. Depth was about 65m.

Nice haul of fish for a solo run, your boat looks like it is well suited for the job. Keep up the reports to make the rest of us jealous.

So how was your layover at the mouth of the rockwalls on the way back in? Certainly threw some spray around. What was going on there? Certainly gave my charterers something to talk about! Was gunna say g'day at the ramp if I had a chance. I knew you from the picture of your boat on here.

Yeah, bloody hell that took me by surprise. I was checking something under the dash and wasn't watching for half a second and bang. Doesn't take long for s__t to happen. Will stop and say g'day next time I see you. How did you go, I see you were filleting something decent.
