Spares for fishing trip

Hi Guys.

Im just after your thoughts on what spares if any I should take on my 5 week holiday over xmas.

My motor is a new merc 60 4st and has just had its 1st service and I know in theory I shouldn’t need anything other then fuel. But you never know

Im working out what to take as being xmas it will be next to impossible to get spares ordered in I would think.

In my old boat I used to carry spark plugs, impeller, fuel filter but it was an old 2st.

Now I cant see any sense in carrying spare plugs as they would be unlikely to foul on a 4st.

Is it worth carrying a spare belt or anything else? Im a bit worried that I may have a simple failure in the first week and be boat less for the other four weeks im away, im only going away to go fishing and im travelling quite a fair way to get there.

Any advice would be great

Don't worry to much i always carry a tool kit with me consisting of rope, two extra spark plugs, spanner, plyers, screw driver (VERY IMPORTANT DON'T FORGET WD-40 and when in doubt i have a hammer.
But Pete it wouldn't hurt to take a spare belt so my suggestion is just pack some spare oil and the tools i listed above and you should be fine

Pliers, Fuel filter, Fuses, electrical tape, blade and philips screw drivers.
Small socket set and some zip ties.

Gaffa tape and WD40 , if it moves and it's not supposed to "gaffa tape"
If it does'nt move and it's supposed to "WD40" .
I have a 4 Stroke Merc and don't recognise anything under the cover , but a top motor , and outstanding fuel economy.

A spare Belt hey, lets see now.... when would you choose to use this??? If his 60 yammy was to break the "belT" I am not 100% sure but I think the 60s only have cam belts. Be needning more than a belt change if it broke and its highly unlikely.

How about you check the local area for availability of yamaha service agents and just go and enjoy your holiday.

Unlikely you will have any problems on a new yammy, just make sure you have been out for a run in it after the service before you go away on holidays.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the motor itself.
A spare fuel filter would be handy though as well as spare bungs, spare fuses, a bit of spare wire and some wire joiners.
Chuck a few tools in and a rope to pull start the bugger if the battery poops itself.
Other then that enjoy the time away I reckon

Have you thought about taking spares for your trailer? Bearings, stub axles, welding rods and a spare battery....for this would depend on if you are travelling offroad.

Thats number one for me (spare prop) I too wouldn't be too concerned about the motor ..... but take a good tool kit ( with a spark plug wrench) ... 1 or 2 plugs wont hurt . Gaffa tape & 10m of rope , spare shackles
The trailer --- Do the bearings just before you go ! ( Take a Spare bearing kit & seals) + your grease gun ( you should be running bearing buddies)... Take a few wheel nuts .......... Oh & dont laugh A spare wheel !! ... I've seen several people go away without one
The boat --- Spare bungs ( they get pinched) , Fuses ... some oil ( charge the battery - run the boat before you leave ....Then turn the battery isolator off

With 5 weeks away .... dont worry too much about it .... because if something does go wrong , you'll only loose a few days ( as long as its not between Xmas & new years)

The most important thing is a rope to rope start the motor. Some spare fuses for your electronics. Your tackle box + rods and maybe a spare propella, nut and pin.

Forget the belt.
