    Post Boggy Creek

Yesterday I went down to Boggy creek for a fish and stoped by the closed padestrian brdge. I was just using some prawn for bait whilst i was castnetting. I was suprised i caught a really small flounder in my cast net and also my first ever jack even though it was 3cm . I caught 2 bream on my rod the biggest being 26cm and a 27cm whiting.

When i was there i saw a few ppl dropping crab pots so i was woundering are the a good amount a crabs in there because im planning to take my kayak down there and thinking maby i should take a pot.?
    Thanks

I've never tried crabbing in boggy creek but it does look as if it would hold some muddies.

    Re: Boggy Creek

Just a word of advise - I had my car parked to the side of the road just near the road bridge about 2 months ago... It was just after dark and my mate and I heard a car zoom past and the sound of smashing glass and my car alarm going off.. (We were about 50m along the bank ).. Went back to investigate - and some lovely creature had thrown a beer bottle at my car, smashing my rear side window! I could still see the car but it was too far away to see the rego, and my keys were 50m back along the creek from where I had just ran.. OH how I would have loved to launch a snapper lead at their car... WATCH YOUR CAR guys n gals!!

Hey mate ive been fishing that boggy creek bridge for about 3 years now and i definately reccomend it for muddies. On the otherside of the bridge is a razorwire fence(airport property),if u can manage to get your pot over there with a long rope the muddies are huge over that side.but up and down the river near the bridge there i have pulled out the biggest muddies iver ever seen.If u are planning to take ur kayak id be careful too because i have caught a few bullsharks there as well as losing 2 crabpots to sharks.

Mate, yeah make sure you watch out for Bullsharks, If you see one just paddle to the nearest bank. Don't worry about them as they won't eat a kayak but be cauious about them.

If your talking about the shark that one the BRC, that was caught round the corner up towards the poo shoot, not in boggy creek. Also, it was caught in the big 16m channel that runs through there, and at like 2am in the morning. I would find it very unlikely that a shark of that size would go into Boggy Creek, being only a relatively small creek, with no real deep water. On the other hand, i dont doubt there would be alot of small Bullies around the metre mark in there. Iv'e seen some good reports from Boggy Creek over the years. Jew, flathead, bream and the other usual species have all ben caught in there.

    Cheers
