My Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Tribute 5600c3 is having a problem with going from free spool into gear, In fact its not doing it at all!!!! Its done this before but it would eventully kick back in. We pulled it apart last time and it just had crap in it but now i dont know what it is. Has anyone else had any problems with this reel???

I have had this problem b4, I have 3 abu overheads and they all have done this at some time. I don't use wd40 though. I usually get some thin reel grease and smear this all over the workings inside after a good clean with metho and a toothbrush.
A slight bump with your palm against that side of the reel that has the push button will generally get it to engage (until you can give it a service).
Clean reel thoroughly in white spirit not meths or turps, then grease with a light coat of grease. the best available used to be Ampol green grease that was used on boat wheel bearings (waterproof). I purchased A 500gram tin ten years ago and still got half of it.
