I was removing an old gps from the boat on the weekend and the old wiring is a mess. I'd like to reorganise things and want to mount a board to the bulkhead to fix the wires to so I can label them and make it obvious what's what. Is there some sort oof synthetic pinboard stuff I can use don't really want to fix stuff directly to the bulkhead. Thanks.
One of the best and cheapest material for the job would be the white polyethylene cutting board stuff, which is available at and Bunnings etc hardware.
You can cut it, plane it, drill it, and it's electrically insulating to boot, and it won't rot!
A cutting board straight of the supermarket shelf isn't a bad choice but
nice first grade HDPE would be better.... you can drill & tap the stuff... great love it.
If you buy it a cut pieces from a plastics supplier it will cost you heaps... BUT ... reverse garbage at west end always have lumps of it arround at a reasonable price........worth looking there for you next bait board too.

Finga, am planning to colour code as much as possible but want to mount a couple of multiplexers and an ais reciever so need a board too. Although anything would be an improvement on the cupboard load of crap I have already - looks like the previous owner(s) deliberately set out to make the wiring as confusing as possible
