Mackay Land Based
G'day all,
My wife has a 4 day conference in Mackay 23 - 26 Nov and the kids and I are going to tag along. I'm just wondering about land based fishing around the area as the kids and I love wetting lines.
We also have a quinnie 4.2 Dory with a 40hp we could take along if you guys think it would be worth it.
Any advice & suggestions would be very welcome.
Ta in advance.............................

One of the places you can try is under the Ron Camm bridge (southern side). I've caught flathead, trevally, and queenfish on plastics.

Up at the Hospital Bridge in the Pioneer River I have caught Grunter & Trevally.
Apparently the breakwalls of the Marina (On the northside near the light house) are good as well.

any where in the marina is good as there is very sheltered water there . fishing from the rocks is pretty safe and there are the usuals to be caught.
