    windy mud sat morn.

was keen for a fish but the wind warning on friday night had me calling it off.
woke at 3.30 no wind at my place thought id go and have alook anyway.
well there was a bit of wind at the ramp but nothing to drastic, all good till i get to the mouth and its a good blow and some decent chop but had had success before on days like this so the slow trip to mud continued. took ages to get to my spot and first few drifts got nothing.
weather was getting slowly worse and i was starting to think i should have stayed home in bed. mmmm going to be a slow trip back to the ramp when BANG im on the change of colour and style placcie has done the trick with a 40cm squire in the boat. quickly forgot about the trip home and was around for another drift, this time a 35cm job, keep driffting on again a good fish took a bit of line and i had to wind in my other rod one handed whilst holding the rod with the fish on high trying to keep tight. got that placcie in out of the way now for my bucket, hard work one handed! fish was running me around the boat with the help of the wind pushing me away from the fish. get him in the boat 55cm happy chappy. 4 more fish from 30cm to 45cm caught and let go, think of heading home as its quite rough now. mmm one more cast. bang onto a 60cm fish which had me hooting and hollaring like a kid, love this type of fishing and dont they hit hard! lost a fish that hit and keept running harder than anything else i had hooked, unfortunatly i pulled the hook before i could get bucket etc in and start the boat to chase. left the fish biteing common sence kicked in, slow wet trip back but was grinning the whole way. in the water at 5 home by ten mowing the lawn. preatty good when u live in logan.

Good job lumix good to see yah pull a few nice head shakers in. I went out on friday afternoon and got one keeper and no big hit ups that night and got real wet coming back. I might have to try the morning run one day at least i can see the size of the waves hitting my tinny in the light. Well done again. PS. I hope this wind drops soon been lumpy out there. Cheers

Nice fish lumox! Windy days with a bit of slop tend to be better, a bit of background noise in the water make them less spooky I guess, not to mention less boat traffic on a windy day. Overcast days too, so there isn't as much light in the water either seems to help.
