Hi shane im a commerical fishermen on vhf 16 and 73 are the main ones to contact the vmrs Try not to chit chat on 16 its a emegercy channel most coast gards will ask you to switch to 73 cheers craig . oh with 27meg 90 is probley the go

27 meg usually 88 (emergency channel) and 90,

VHF usually 16 (emergency) 67, 73, 81, 21,
