    Tarting up your Jigheads.

After reading through a few old threads i thought i'd give it a try. You can use powdercoat or similar but i chose this gear...

It dries odourless and gives it a plastic feel. We all like our different coloured plastics, so why not different coloured jigheads.

Just taped them up a bit and give them a cpl of coats. leave to dry for 20.

Add some fancy squiggle type things in the wifes nail polish, or go shopping for some! So you really feel like you've made a difference in catching the fish..

    wallaahhhh.....

Then resharpen. I use Eze-Lap Diamond hone and stone, on all my jig hooks. Add your bait of choice and your away...

Look at that. What flattie in his right mind could resist it.

    Not a bad idea.
always woundered if a painted head would be better than a plain led one. Let me know how they go.

You might only catch girl fish with the colour you have picked though

with the part of you re-sharpening the hook why wouldnt you just tape the whole hook. (just a thought)

LOL we all know flathead are "Metrosexual". They love the pinkish hues!!

Gonna try some lime green as well. God knows where it will go. I was talking to the bloke there about casting my own resin... Mix some silver flecks in.

Did you heat the lead up at all? Or slightly rough up the surface? I was thinking about painting some myself the other day and wondered if this would help the paint 'take'.

Nah just made sure the surface was clean. I'll see how they go anyway.
