Preferred Tip for Tyrnos Heavy T-Curve

    Hi Guys.

What is the preferred tip type for the Tyrnos T-Curve 15-24kg Rod for trollign and livebaiting?

RT, standard eye tip or high silicon UST tip?

    Pros and COns for each?

Hi Splash, as far as I know they only come with one tip choice, which is the standard roller tip. Not sure if you mean you are interested in having it changed over to something else, but I am pretty sure from when I bought mine there wasn't any other options off the shelf.

I beleive Shimano are just releasing the new verison - without the RT.

Should I go for the roller tip or shoudl I get a high grade silicon UST eye tip put on in the shop before they send it to me?

If it is for trolling and you are using mono then I would go for the roller tip.

Just my preference. With mono there is no problem of getting the line caught down the side of the roller and with trolling the line will generally be coming straight off the tip and thus in line with the roller. Also of course the Tyrnos rods only came with a roller tip when I bought them.

Sic tip for anything under a 24 kg outfit! RT's are great while there working BUT they can sieze easily and when they do your in trouble. Also if your using rubber bands they will jam in the roller.

Sic guides are a very good guide and all you will need!

Done - as you know - as per other thread - I am unsure if i shoudl change my mind to the 15kg stick as the 24kg is on order.

Isnt the TYR30 too big for the 15kg stick?
