after a long spell with no camera i finally decided to borrow my missus's to take out fishing today
with my holidays quickly winding up it was time to go chasing some flatties on plastics around the tweed. we started off fishing some drains etc for quite a few pan sized flatties around the 40-50cm mark on atomic prongs. after losing interest with a consitent flow of smaller flatties we went after some bigger versions.
up sizing our plastics to 6 and 7" shads and stick baits and heavy heads i opened the account with a 77cm girl who quickly went back in after a pick and simonpp knocked an 80cm not long after.
anyway put a couple of pics of the two better fish below
Couple of nice fish there - hope we see a few like that in our boat during the Classic. Would have been fantastic on the water this morning.
Did you manage to catch the water temp - last week it was only around 21-22 degrees - a couple more degrees and the Jacks should start to fire! Then we'll be into them!
Very nice flatties guys, and I thought I did well on the w/end.
I definately want give the tweed a go and target some Jacks too, maybe my next trip. What minimum line class would you recommend for them and would a my 2-4kg spin outfit be ok? Cheers, Mark.
