    Question about props and transducers

    Question 1
The tradnsducer is mounted on the port side. The boat has a pod. I am upgrading the sounder, should I move it to the starboard side (PITA because I'll have to move the tank pump too) or is it ok on the port side when a pod is fitted?

    Question 2
This prop looks pretty average. Would performace increace significantly if it was replaced? Cavitates a lot under acceleration unless the leg is trimmed in. Once on the plane you can trim it back to level again.
one blade looks ok, the other has a bit of a chunk out of it and the 3rd has the tip bent over noticeably. Engine is Johnson 50HP 2 banger. 5500rpm WOT fully loaded gives us about 25 knots. Boat is a Ally 4.85 Savage

    thanks

    Hi Hamish

If it was my prop I'd be either getting it repaired or depending on feed back from the prop service guy looking into another one. There is a good prop repair place down here at Southport but may be something up your way too which someone else may mention.

    Cheers

Get that prop changed asap. The vibration isn't good for your leg.

sent it to Solas and for $60 they made it like new.
That was until it's first outing with the Mrs at the wheel it got a bit close to the boat ramp
