My little 3000 Aernos was feeling a bit rough ,so I stripped and serviced it last night.
When I took the rotor off a piece of the body fell off onto my work bench. Its hard to describe , but its like a flange that rests against the back of the main bearing housing. At first I thought the reel was broken as the part is not shown in the Schemeatic.
Later on I found the same piece ,shown in a Sahara diagram, so it is apparently there to allow the main gear to be removed.
Now heres the problem, Once I had reassembled the reel that flange had quite a bit of movement in it. It didnt sit tight,or appear to properly seal .
Whats the go, ? have I stuffed up or is this a common problem.
And just to pre-empt the non believers , No!! no bits were missed.
I have to do the Sahara 4000 tonight and I dont want a repeat, although the Sahara seems to have a locking ring system on that part( maybe) .
So if any of you reel techs can help a dummy out Id be most grateful.
thanks in advance
