Thread: Wilson rod lathe

    Wilson rod lathe

    Hi all,
I am about to purchase my first rod lathe & wondering if anyone here uses the rod lathe advertised by MO Tackle, Coffs Harbour NSW, page 129.
I believe the brand is actually Pacific Bay & is distributed by Wilson.
It doesn't actually state wether it has a drying motor as well.
    Any help,
    Regards,
    Brian

    Re: Wilson rod lathe

    Thanks for that Ross,
Apart from the brand name, there appears to be no difference between the two. ( except for the $275.00 price difference )
I assume you or your rod builders are using your advertised Alps brand lathe for your brilliant rods.
    Cheers,
    Brian

I use one and find it great. I have upgraded the chuck to a solid alloy for more strenght when making cork handles.

    Graham,
Is it the Pacific Bay ( Wilson ) you use or the Alps from Rodworks. Both look identical, exact features, $275.00 less from Ross at Rodworks.
    Cheers,
