    pixels

    is 320 x 240 pixels enough resoloution or are they pretty ordinary. its just to suit a 4.2 tinny on a GPS/finder combo garmin 450s

    If you are looking at a chartplotter 320x240 is fine. For a fishfinder it is the starting point. Just a few years ago we were marveling at how great the 320x240 screens were, but now with the really high resolution screens the 320x240 is obsolete. I would not get too focused on pixels. Get as big a screen as you can afford and buy a quality unit and the screen should be pretty good.
