Greetings Peoples , My fishing bud and i decided to hit the bohle Saturday morning , on the water by 5:30 and a heap of prawns and mullet in the tank by 6 , hit all our regular spots for well .... Nothing . Got 2 cod , 1 jack , 8 bream (all undersize) , one solid hit on the lure trolling ( possibly a barra ) , 2 undersize muddies in the pot and came home with about 2kg of fresh prawn , and a good head start on the amber fluid for Saturday nights thrashing!! ( had 2 throw that in ). Then the call was made during the game , to have another attempt on sunday!. Let me tell hopes were high and so were the chances of a bit of "blow back' from the night before ( gotta love the O.P's ) , anyway got to the ramp just in time to clean the prop through stoney's ( Gets bloody shallow through there ) we , got onto a heap heap of nice poddy's and some prawns . we managed a nice little 30cm barra in the net aswell as a bloody big toad fish. Ran into a couple lads in a centre console ( if ur on here we'll have to have a beer ) there were all boo's and hiss's when we told them manly had a bloody ripper of a game, then the rest of the day was them and us taunting each other with the lack of fish we were catching , total tally for that day , 20 catfish , 1 ray , little bream,grunter,cod. We were out till 7pm hit the rock point just on sunset in hope of jagging a nice silver fish but , no luck at all. Feed back from everyone on the river was very negative!!
KC, this weekend and today i too have alos found it to be very quiet (but that's nothing too unusuall for me). Although today around the ross, i was suprised with the amount of prawns getting flushed out the river, yet nothing was around them...
Where abouts do get your bait on the bohle, do get it in stoney creek, or around the sand banks and crocs??
Fisher4life , We work the bank opposite the break through , all across the the sand bar , at high tide that is. If there's nothing there three bends up from the break through there's i nice little creek were a heap of pranws sit in the deep water
