    Furuno LS4100 and 6100

Hi All, does anyone have any experience of these and know if there's any difference other than screen size between the two?

Exactly the same Q I posted a couple of months ago, the answer I got was no difference apart from screen size, I can second that now.

BTW I think overall I liked my old 8 years young lowrance better, screen was bigger definition was less though (I bought the 4100) I find myself taking my polaroids off to view it never needed to with the L + other things I probably need time to settle into the 4100 and get it's entire setup spot on.

Thanks, just noticed you'd responded on the laptop chartplotter thread do you have the furuno connected to your pc?

No don't have a chart plotter yet, still battling on with my handheld and computer software to manipulate waypoints, overlay differing maps etc, PC conectivity is at the top of my list for a chartplotter purchase though, I find the list of available options limiting, if my boat had a cabin there would be no contest and I would use a laptop. it seem no matter how much I plan to spend on a chartplotter it will fall short of the mark.

Thanks, I've been struggling to work out what to get myself - I think I've finally decided on the furuno sounder and small gps reciever to feed data to the laptop but I'm sure there'll be a new plan next week.

thanks for the replies, i was planning to use the furuno stuff as I really only need depth from the sounder and furuno do a small multiplexer which will make linking to the pc easier
