    updating navionics classic charts

    G'Day
I've got an old lowrance GPS/sounder combo that takes the old navionics classic charts. Is it possible to put the new GBRMP zonings on these charts. What sort of soft ware would I need if it is possible or is there a company in Queensland that can upgrade the chart (Rosslyn Bay to Brisbane ) to include the new zonings.
    Cheers

You cant change the cards at all. Get in touch with Navionics Australia and find out how much they will charge you for the upgrade. They have done away with the area maps of Oz and now just have a map that covers the whole country. It cost me $120 to upgrade my Gold card to the newest one but it may be a little more to upgrade from the classic.

    Thanks Shanoss
I 've always said the poor man pays twice. I should have just bought a new one to begin with rather than buying an older version off Ebay thinking I could change it

I just upgraded my navionics maps - $110 for the upgrade plus about $12 for express post delivery - sent the original SD Card on a Monday from Brisbane to their Sydney office - got the new one back the following Monday morning...

Very happy with the new Navionics gold charts - they have all the beacons around the broadwater now

    Thanks Frank
My sounder/GPS is the old Lowrance LM240 and I'm pretty sure the gold card wont work in it. I might have to give Navionics a call and see what options are available.
