    SeaClear Chartplotting software

    Hi,

Anyone out there ever use the free software SeaClear. It allows you to scan your own charts and then calibrate for GPS plot. Lets you use it on a laptop with the GPS product pluggd in.

Any experience with this would be gratefully received!

Sorry no experience with that one, but I have done the same thing with Ozi explorer and Panaview image assembler as the stitcher, hard work scanning and stitching so many scanner sized bits of a whole map together, need to be very particular. Think I will buy my charts on disk from now on, ozi will still run them.

    cheers fnq

I tried but found the process a bit too dificult to get a good result. Ended up paying for a c map chart and use digiboat's software with the exception of having a little trouble seeing the screen in bright sunlight am very happy with it.

Yes, I have the SOB digiboat software as an option. Looks like I'll be going that way too.
