I heard a similar version years ago in relation to surfing, and tha agro, over the top attittude of some people in the water ... I adopted it as a bit of a view on things I do ...
"the best person is the one having the most fun"
How we each measure fun is as unique as we are. But that's just the point ... if you're not enjoying what your doing then your missing the point ... otherwise, why do it?
That's my philosophical introduction ...
About my fishing and boating and 4wd interests ... well I have fished all my live, surfed all my life and live to be near the ocean. If the surf is poor or flat then fishing is a great option.
I'm a recreational social stinky bait fisho. From estuary fishing for bream, whiting and flathead from banks, walls, and jetty's to using boats to outside bottom bashing for reef fish.
I've fished from mid northern NSW, Camden Haven area to the Gold Coast (Jumpinpin and surrounding waters), Moreten Bay, and Sunshine Coasts (Caloundra and Passage) to Fraser Island.
I don't have a boat ... I hire one for the rivers, and manage to get a crew call up from my father in law pretty regularly.
Have just started my 2 yo daughter into fishing ... and she just beems with delight when she 'catches' one and winds it in (with help from dad).
As my Pop use to say "tight lines".
