    1770/the CatWalk

Hey fellow ausfishers, planning a trip to 1770 to fish the catwalk for pelagics some time between now and december for 5 days. Havent officially organised anything but we're putting together some plans at the moment. this will be the first time any of us have been there so dont know the area at all.
Few questions, any tips on fishing for the pelagics off the catwalk? Will be using tyrnos 20's and tld 25s on 7-8foot lbg rods.
Whats the bait situation like? Is it possible to catch liveys there or is it deadbait? If so what goes best? Gar?
How far out from agnes/1770 is the catwalk and are there any other general area's (not asking for spot x's but they're gladly appreciated) that we should focus on?
    Cheers guys
    Matt

I have two mates there right now....They just sent me a SMS saying it was crap at the moment...and asked if any pelagics around Noosa.
I am going to go up there with a mate of mine who knows it VERY well and has caught LOADS of good fish there.
It is mainly a spinning ledge mate.....Sharks can be a BIG problem to
Stay in touch if you like and I will let you know when it fires....I have a good reliable info source.

Matt, the catwalk is at Roundhill Headland. That is about 1 -2k's past 1770.

It is not that hard to get to with all your gear and there is a little tight spot that requires care. You can spin for mackerel from there or live or deadbait. Obviously live baiting is better.

You can castnet livies at the boat ramp on the way there. There are other spots that yakka and slimies and pike can be jigged, but it would be hard from the mainland, but not impossible.

Other than that, call the Agnes Bait and tackle and talk to Tony or Josh about the catwalk.

Further, plan your trip outside school holidays as it will make the house rentals much cheaper , but if you are camping, get in early, very early.

    Don't forget the 2007 Annual Agnes/ 1770 Ausfish M & G is on from Oct 13th to 21st. Check out the " going Fishing " section.

    Good luck,

Would love to make the M&G phill but most likely will be doing exams at the time.. Would love to but im just about to do my HSC so was looking at doing it sometime in november once ive finished as a sort of "reward" for fishing during my studying time. hahaha.
Pete, was talking to ben from tackleworld in brissy and he was saying he was going to try and get rob to go up. If you're available when we finally put a date to it, it'd be good to see you there.
    Definately stay in contact.
