    Condensation In Lowrance Sounder

Hi all, i own a X70 lowrance sounder which is getting on a bit now(10yrs) but still works perfectly. Well except for an annoying problem with condensation forming on the inside of the screen. This happens mainly in cooler weather! Any ideas on rectifing this problem? cheers daz...

Mate if your can store your sounder in your video cabinet when not in use the heat from the other electronics will keep it warm and stop the condensation.I had a brand new furuno ls 6100 that would fog up severly and this was the only way i could solve the problem.I don't know how to fix the problem properly and neither did the guy's at taylor marine.Try it it work's Dan.........

I had an Apelco sounder that used to fog up and sent it back 3 times under warrantee to be fixed.
The last time it went back i talked to the service tech that worked on it and he said the std thing they do with recurring moisture probs is put a small sachet of silica gel crystals inside the housing and that he had done this with mine.
It never fogged up again after that.

The same technique solved my problems too...My raymarine...garmin and lowrance all did the same fogging thing...gel crystals..should be a standard thing..
