    Lucinda boating/camping trip

Trying to plan a quick trip to lucinda because the winds are forecast as half as strong down there as in Cairns for the weekend + it will be fun.

Does anyone have any good names, basic cordinates, anything for a fish offshore near the palm Islands or out from the southern end of Hinchinbrook?

Planing on trying to get out there for as long as possible this Saturday after traveling down fri arvo, just looking for basic areas to scout around while towing lures till we find somewhere to anchor up, also worried about all of the places a person is not allowed to venture/play within say 25km offshore of lucinda not the green zones etc but any other layers of control where we cannot tread??.
I guess any info is appreciated as we have little.

Happy to meet up for a tag along/whatever if anyone is heading out.

    cheers fnq

Try then end of ther sugar loader jetty as you're heading out towards the palms.

Once over at the palms keep a green zone map handy, top spot but it's riddled with green & science type zones.

Pull up for lunch at Yanks Jetty on the inside of Orpheous Is. This also has a no fishing zone (state controlled, not federal like the GRUMPA ones). Take a loaf of bread to break up & feed the fish under the jetty. This joint is alive. Take a snorkel & goggles and have a dive around it.

Thankyou Dicko, now thinking of heading out to the brittomart area instead of hanging close saturday then spend a few hours at the sugar loader sun morning, spent a couple of weeks at lucinda must be 7 years ago and the sugar loader was a mighty fun spot!

Dicko would know what is the best resource a few days out to see a forecast for the offshore areas off Lucinda?? I have not had much luck, the one I found says lucinda will be only be 10kn but expereince says another 30km further out it could be 25kn!

    cheers fnq
