    Wetting the tyres

Some playing around over the last weekend around the back of Springfield lakes.

The shot don't show it, but there is a 3ft gully on the drivers side tyre.

Never did get this guys name, but he was having fun

Just a scenic run from the drivers side, few minutes long.

Wondering if Chris should be allowed near mud.

Another longish run from the drivers perspective

One stage further, if you have google earth on your computer, the zip file here contains two runs we have done, last week end, and the one before it. Just double click the KLM file, and Google earth will open and lay out the runs we did.

If anybody can give me a better idea of setting the video up for youtube to get a better moving image I would be grateful. At present I take the video from the DV camera using Windows Movie Maker, use local video playback (2.1mbps) then use DVDVIDEOSOFT Video to flash converter to change it to a FLV file to minimise the damage youtube does during the upload. But its not the best on a moving image. If you have a better way please let me know.

Great post, the video is pretty good too, I wouldn't worry about it.

That looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Thanks for including the google shots and tracks too, I'll be saving that into an Ozi-Explorer map for future use.

I have driven past there , I didn't venture in. What is that place a bushland reserve? IS it OK to drive around in there? It's a wonder the fun police havn't fenced it and put up the usual no bikes, no dogs , no 4WDs signs.

Brett, I use http://www.freewareppc.com/communica...igpsplot.shtml to track my trip, the export the file as a Google earth, you can run google earth on your mobile now, but the download cost of the satellite images would break the bank.
Seahunt, we have been in a few times with no problems, but that doesnt mean there wont be in the future and it goes for miles, just need to get in more the southern end. I grew up in Camira 30 years back, in those days Camira backed on to an area owned by Bernyboards? it covered what is now Springfield, that is the area we played in lately, but in those days it went south for miles out behind Greenbank. We used to camp the week ends at a log cabin built by/for the scouts, that is my holy grail, finding that again.

I have an HP PDA GPS running windows so I will have to look into getting google for that. If I can get it to run with gps that would be good. The other option is to mount the laptop in the car. hook it up to the magellan 210 and see if google will run with that gps.

Thanks for the link, that is a good looking program.

I have a dopod 810 running windows mobile 6 with internal GPS and that runs all the different GPS software I have found so far.
Open http://www.google.com/gmm within your handheld's browser and it will set it up automatically
