Thanks to all who commented on my thread on bottom bouncing the shelf.
Aint we lucky we live in a country where we have the right to disagree with others.
The way others fish might not be our cup of tea but if thier laws state they can fish that way then it's thier right to fish that way wether we think it's right or not and it's our right to say we do or don't agree.
The kingfish in NSW have been hammered by traps and they are only now starting to fight back.
SA is no different, the king gorge whiting stocks have been hammered over years of over fishing and greedy people, now they implicating laws to stop it,lets hope it's not to late.
The snapper in SA have been hit hard also from commercial fishing,I have been out at a place called the illusion (which is a exploded wreck of a vessel) and personally watched the pro's take small to very large snapper till thier gunnels of thier boats was nearly taking water then going back in, getting on the booze and forgetting about them and dumping the lot .
The Whyalla fishing comp used to yield snapper to over 17kg now the winning snapper is around the 13kg mark.
Jewies at the murry mouth heve been hit hard also not only by pro's (taking jews till they can only sell them as pet food for 50 cents a kilo)but by former taking that much water from the murry that they dont open the barrages to flush the mouth, hence spend millions on dredging it (what a waste).
Also in NSW the long liners setting lines for YFT and hooking a beakie but sending it to the bottom cause the dont have bycatch licence's again WHAT A WASTE.
Thanks people for responding and now listening to me winge about my thoughts.
Cheers MJF
