    Blue Fin Baracuda it is

Have decided to go with a new Barracuda. The only query I have is the dealer assures me a 50 Etech is enough power for this boat, I wanted to go with the 60 but he tells me they are the same cubic output only the 60 has a variable exhaust which gives it slight more kick after 1200 revs, simialar to a power band on a motobike? I would like to hear from anyone who might be able to shed a non dealer spin on this story. Ta.

Herks ...... Barracuda is a nice boat ..... I wish I could help you on the Tech details of the 50 vs 60 ..... but get it right because your boat is no lightweight (400kg .. Hull only) .... & if you add all the other things (leccy & batteries etc) .... you'll be up there in weight where you wished the boat was rated to 75HP .... Nagg

If you look the specs of a 50 & 60hp E-tec they are the same apart from the extra ponies so i think there is some truth in what the dealer is saying..

I have a mate with the same boat he had a 50hp on it and upgraded to a 60hp. the 50 was ok but with 3 blokes or a lot of gear it took abit to get out of the hole.
