Can't see the point for the few metres you reverse with it..

    Re: trailer reverse lights

You will find 99% of trailers don't, as its not compulsory. In fact you might even find it hard to find submersible trailer lights with reverse lights.

    Re: trailer reverse lights

its not even compulsory for semi trailers to have reverse lights. they reverse for 100s of metres sometimes.

IMO it comes down to pedestrians beware.

That's why they have rearward facing lights on their mirrors.
Or are they for the people that leave their high beam on

What is great,is a reversing light,or lights, that show your trailer wheel position,so you can turn,in the correct spot.
Pretty difficult to turn correctly,in a dark situation, not knowing where the wheels are positioned.,Especially in tight spots.

    Re: trailer reverse lights

If you are going to fit reversing lights to your trailers make them on the side mounted on the gaurds or chassis near them.
If you have them on the back of the trailer you will still be guessing where the wheels are on the trailer as you are cornering because the light has already passed where you need to see.

An easy way to combat this is to fit white reflectors onto the wheel guards which will have the reverse lights reflect off them .
