    Wivenhoe Launching and Permits???

    Hey Fellas.

I'm bit unsure about what the current launching conditions at Wivenhoe are like at the moment? I may be heading out there for a Bass Electric prefish on Sunday with a mate as the weather doesn't look tops for the bay. Has the water level risen enough so a bank launch on solid ground is possible?

I won't need boating or fishing permit as I'm under 18, is that correct? But my mate is an old bugger so where we can pick one up? Is it right that there's only weekly and annual permits and no monthlies? As a monthly would save us getting another one when comp time comes around.

    Thanks,
    Troy

If your boat is on a trailer, you will need a boating permit. If you car top it, you won't. You don't need a SIP being under 18, however your mate will. Go here:

As for launching, I'd check with the ABT guys, but they normally run the comps from Billie's Bay which, apart from comp days, is only accessible by members of the sailing club. You'll have to launch at Logan Inlet, and I doubt if you'll be able to make the run to the comp area from there, without a few hours and a lot of batteries.
