    Cheap Stradics'

I notice a couple of the larger chains have stradics under $200.

Is this a clearout for the new range, or just competative pricing.

Thinking of getting a couple. Any thoughts on this reel would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Jim.

    Hi Flick
What's the normal price of these reels, I don't know any thing about them, Iwent into BCF to have a look at one the other day, but they don't sell Shimano. Everybody seems to be useing them they must have something going for them!

Are they any good for spinning for pelagics. Or just an estuary reel.

    Normal price for say a 6000 is about $280. 1000's about $240, i think.

My only concern was the non waterproof drag. Am i being a sook.

Having had baitrunners in the past, I can undoubtedly say that the stradic is the best reel i've owned. I noticed them on sale the other day and picked up a 4000 for 169. This is my second. I figured there were new models coming but who cares. these reals will last a lifetime if properly taken care of. The drag is also very precise and they wind smooth as. Bargain buying at this price. also picked up a berkely dropshot rod 6-10 kg for a bargain as well.

I picked up a 4000 for myself and one for fathers day. Great value on a pretty good reel

    Re: Cheap Stradics'

I use my 4000 for spinning for pelagics as its ratio is 5.7:1 awesome reel, matched with 6kg braid. At $169 an absolute bargain, I'm off to get a 2500!!!

    Re: Cheap Stradics'

I have used a shimano stradic 4000 for about 3 years now and it has been used every week or more during that period. It was the main reel i used when i travelled around oz and it has never let me down. It had a bit of back play on the handle which shimano fixed no worries and its as good as new. I have just purchased a sustain 6000 for an upgrade during the cheap run out sales!!! Yeehaa.
