snapper and cobia on the gold coast

hi all after hearing of some good reports of snapper and cobia being caught lately
i was thinking of heading down to the goldy and fishing offshore out from the seaway my main target a snapper or cobia.
if i jig some livies off the scottish prince where abouts would i be able to find my target and any advice on hoe to catch my first snapper or cobia.

Hi guys have just got another boat and nearly ready for offshore again. I will be looking for a couple of boats to go out with (safety in numbers) and may also looking for a crew every now and then. I have some good spots on gps outside pin bar but was looking at getting out off goldie. I want to make sure what this boat is capable of before trying the pin.
