    Splitting Transducer Installation

    Hi Guys

I currently have a manufacturer installed wet box installion for the transducer to operate my JRC Colour Sounder. I also operate a Lowrance GPS LX 19C Chart Plotter Sounder Como unit that is used exclusively as a GPS Chart Plotter.

My question: Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get some sort of splitter unit installed on the transducer cable to pick up signal from the transducer so that I can plug into my GPS combo unit to operate the Lowrance unit as a back up Sounder.

    GNB

GNB it is theoretically possible to do what you want so long as the operating frequencies of both sounders are the same. A change over switch set-up would need to be made by a technitian. The hard part will be locating the appropriate connectors for the Lowrance unit.

    Thank You J-Man.

As you have said - it sounds a bit to technical for me - I was hoping for some off the shelf "magic box" but that would too easy and would be wishful thinking.

I suppose at the end of the day it would be far cheaper to just go and buy a Lowrance transducer and have it installed.

    Thanks GNB
