A yearly permit is just over $100. Camping is $4.50 each per night.

    Re: Camping Bribie Weekend

Well we just went up for a couple of nights and I must say there's pro's and con's about what's happening up there.

    Pro's:
    New toilet blocks are great
    Track to west side appreciated
Not as much traffic as elsewhere

    Con's:
Why won't they board the cutting onto the beach? Not that we had trouble, because it has just rained, but carting a camper trailer in summer after no rain would be interesting. And what's with the poles so close to the track?
No showers at the toilets. Doesn't worry me, but if I take the girls it may be nice. We do have camp showers but a shower would be good.
Camp sites that say they are big are not big. Why stick the poles everywhere and say no camping at a camp site??
What's with no fires at all? Isn't that half of camping? Supply pits.

PS. 2 of the lagoons had broken through. The first one quite seriously.

Can't help if the lagoons break.
Showers would be nice but the toilets took 4ever
yes the sites are small, one site that we used to use is now three.
the cutting is better thsn the old boarded one but poles are shit and yes fires would be great,we just got our son use to a camp fire and than they banned them.

yeah I didn't mean to blame anyone about the lagoons breaking through. Just thought I'd let you all know so you don't try and cross at highish tide.

sorry if my reply come accross wrong but yer those lagoons are are real pain when broken out which is when that new track is handy, the kids allways seem to injoy making the most out of the lagoons breaking out on their body boards though. Cant wait to start getting up the beach for the weekends, thank god summers about here, We should all consider having a little Ausfish M&G up Bribie beach one weekend, be a good family weekend, a fish and a few beers.

    Re: Camping Bribie Weekend

M&G sounds like a good idea, but I've got kids birthday parties and grand finals days etc for a few weeks. Partial to a beer. With a line in the water of course (that's what rod holders are for). I think my mate and I will be going back again in the next couple of months. The erosion of the beach made for good fun for the girls. Big sand cliffs to slide down.

The only thing I'd say about the lagoon breakouts is that they absolutely stunk! I came home and put the 4B in the garage and the next day it had stunk the place out with the same smell. War and Finance minister not impressed.

Theres a group of about 4 trucks headed up tomorrow from me and mates... keep an eye out for a 4" Lifted Maroon Surf, 6" Lifted White GQ, and a 3" Lifted Gold GU, possibly a bloody ugly hilux too...

None of them fish, but the girls wanna go for a swim, and the boys wanna explore. I'll be taking the new Wilson rod and Alvey up in hope of some whiting.
