    Furuno FCV 620 not working

    Hey guys

Been having a few issues with the fcv 620, i noticed the past two times i went out onto the water, it wasnt picking up the depth streight away and took about 10-20min to kick in to pic up the signal from the trans, and yesturday as soon as we switched it on, it didnt pic up anything the whole trip (5 hours on the water), the tranducer is all clean between the unit and hull, tranducer cable is fine, just dosnt show any ready, the screen just goes through all these search screens but cant find anything.

I think the transducer is goneskies?

Anyone have any similar problems or solutions (buy a new transducer?) lol

i think there is a reset in the menu try this first.
also r u in auto range as some times in manual if u r out side yr current depth it will not lock on
eg. if u r in 80m and deth is set at 60 it mite not lock on to the bottom

have a look at your plug for your transducer. Make sure all the pins are straight & clean. Also have a look at the head unit & see if the holes are clean & in shape.
Check the cable run & look for area's where the cable may have been breached, it may have rubbed through or be kinked, so a broken wire is a possibility.

If all looks ok, try putting the plug in with the unit on without using the locking nut and give the cable a bit of a wiggle, maybe even apply a little pit of pressure from the rear to push the plug harder into the unit, or apply a little bit of pressure from the left, right, top, bottom. It could be a poor cable connection.

Finally if no avail, trythe head unit of a different transducer. Plenty of guys have the 620 now days & someone should be able to help you out.

    cheers
