    2 stroke tacho...will this work???

hey guys.i hope this is posted in the right part

on monday i go to pick up my brand spanking motor..its a 2 stoke 2cylinder 30hp tohatsu.

now i want to install a tacho just so i know what going on etc plus its loads easier to troll when u have one if u know what i am tryign to say..

anways i dont want an electronic one and the qenuine ones are very pricey!!!
    will this work

If the pistons are stagered (one is up and two is down this would mean it fires twice per revolution.A 4 stroke 4 cylinder fires twice per revolution: so a car tach set to 4 cylinders should work?
If the cylinders are not stagered and both are up or both are down then it fires only once per revolution and it will not work?

how does that sound...i hope its clearly written but that my best explanation?

All depends on the number of poles on the sparky giver doover under the flywheel.

Tiny tacs work well...i fitted one to my 75 Yammie enduro...only 2 wires..earth and the red wrapps around any plug lead...most stihl retailers sell these for around 50 bucks.

    Cheers Mick
