New Garmin Plotters

Hi lads, Iam in the market for a new plotter, have about $1000/$1200. I like the new Garmins,have a 340c sounder and it works a treat, which keeps me interested in Garmins. Anybody using the new plotters.

I just purchased a Garmin 3210 with the new g2 charts...2200 from the states...it has not as yet arrived so i cannot comment on it yet...but i have seen the new charts and they are awesome...

Just arrived and i have given it a quick play...the resolution is fantastic and very easy to use menus...Once i have been out on the water i will be able to comment more on the charts...

Hi...Polky...I finally had a chance to take the boat for a spin today and use the new chartplotter...

The G2 map detail is just awesome...The unit itself is very easy to use...with heaps of great shortcuts...and finally someone has made a unit that is vieable in direct sunlight...I know a lot of manufactorers state there unit are...but these seem to be miles ahead of other unit that i have owned or used...

hi i have just bought a 525 plotter and g2 vision card for east coast. cost under 1300. small unit but very clear. compare 555 in garmin aust literature .still waiting to give it a test on the water.cheers john

hi mick have been looking at the new 4008 i thought that the 3210 was an old model and didn't take the g2 cards

Not real sure about it being an old model...but it does take the G2 Cards...

Thanks for the info Mick, I have decided on the Garmin 555 combo, remove the sounder and the combo will fit neatly in the same hole in the dash. Couple of lads up here have used the new g2 map and say it is brilliant. Thanks again Polk y.

I am also looking at one of the new Garmins.. Not too sure how much longer before Furuno bring out there new plotter to match the FCV620. So the garmin will be my next choice
