Bluechart G2 Data Cards

Hi Team.

How do I tell if i have been sold a g2 data card or a standard bluechart data card?

How can I tell this on my Garmin GPS 292C?

did you check to see if was in the compatibility matrix, that particular model doesnt seem to appear in the supported product list for G2 data cards.

When you purchased the unit it should have come with a dvd type case that had the data card information, there should be some mention of what version it is on it, other wise it might be printed on the data card itself inside the gps.

I have a 276c and purchased the BlueChart CD (probably nearly two years ago now.. got the update which includes the green zones)

Do you know if there are likely to be any significant improvement in going to the data cards? ie is there more detail ?

Be interested to find out your thoughts on the G2 data cards. As far as I can tell I can go up to the G2 Data cards, but not the G2 Vision, although I'd question how much detail there would be of Cairns, GBR etc etc.

as far as im aware there is more detail with the G2 than the card i am useing now, so the guys said , i will see in a week or so and put feedback up when it happens

I have two(2) G2 cards (well bought them as g2 anyway).

Does the number "2" in of the number imply they are g2 cards?

I have "2PC412S" and "2PC415S".

Can someone help if these are g2 cards.

Garmin cannot/does not really want to help me in this one - they keep dancing around the problem...

These are good for storing more waypoints...Anyone use them?
