Went for a fish with my Dad today, being the first decent window of weather for a while, we left Manly around 5:00am with high expectations given the big flush out last week, tried Green for a half hour and only managed to boat a couple of very small squire.
An unexpected 5 to 10kn Southerly seemed to be freshening and after checking the forecast again decided to go wide and headed North of Tangalooma.
Within 5 min of starting our first drift my Dad was almost spooled follwed by a couple of smashing hits which may gave been yellow tailed kingys..... they wern't stopping but were happy to swim off with bitten of plastics.
Then it was my turn, my 4lb outfit went off and after a few minutes I pulled in my pb bay snapper of 63cm. Before the adrenalin hit was over the other rod (10lb outfit started to scream..... another solid fight and I was celebrating another pb 68cm.
On the next drift I was just about to pull my line in and again ZZZZZZZZZZ... this time a 74cm nobby.![]()
After that it was downhill with the last fish a mere 67cm. My thoughts then turned to the big question "Can I bag out on over 60cm bay snapps?
Sadly the answer was no as things really shut down... Oh well tomorrow is another day and I'm heading out early with my brother Horse.![]()
Cheers
