Monduran fish kill not so bad.
Just got the attached email message from Rob & Kelly at the Lake Monduran Holiday Park.........
There haven't been a lot of fish killed here. The most that a customer has spotted is 24 in one fishing trip so we haven't lost thousands. They are still biting out there and before the rain there were barra being caught each day. Now that the weather is starting to warm up we should see an increase in the Barra being caught so hopefully when you are up in October there will be plenty of action out there.
The dam level at present is at 18% and has been at this level for at least 8 weeks
Hope this helps anyone who is headed up there in the near future!

Peter,
I spoke to the president of the Monduran fish stocking association last nite, he reckons about 200 dead from their count. I spose we can be thankful it wasn't thousands. Its still a sad sight. 90% of the fish were XOS models too. Still leaves heaps of hungry ones in there ready to fire up as it warms up!!

Yes Steve, any loss of barra is bad but there should be plenty left for us to catch. I just wanted to highlight that the media reports have been somewhat exaggerated and that , as usual, it's best to ask a local!

Exactly right peter, media exagerates everything. Robs at monduran is a top bloke, He see the fishermen on the dam every day. I'd beleive him before any media reports I re-read my reply previous. I didn't mean to sound like it was discrediting his numbers, or your post. Sorry for that. I just wanted to add another report I heard.

No dramas, Steve. I didn't take it that way.
Good fishing.
