What exactly does 'refurbished' mean? I might be interested in doing the same...

I take it they are units that have come back under warranty and have been 'fixed' but they sent the old owner a new unit. They look like they put a new outer plastic cover and screen on them (basically the unit looks new but might have used internals). Transducer as far as i can tell is a new one. Only thing that gives mine away is the booklet looked a little used and a slight scratch on the dust cover. Good value though and mine has the year warranty. No dramas with it yet.

maybe but how about a legal way to dump excess stock ? mine appears new every way . i actually ordered the new one then spotted the refurbished . plus i thought returned items went into the bin. its cheaper to make a new one then mess around with a return ?

Maybe only the accessories and box, etc, are 'second hand' because the booklet with mine is definitely not new and the dust cover has a little scratch so again definitely not new but the unit and transducer look new.

    cheers Chris
