    if only i had a rod :(

i was kiting on the weekend saterday
and the tide at caloundra river mouth was ripping out and the wind was on so much fun by the way until

i went and got some chips and watched a massive schoool of GT or travs on some sort smash the surface for about 20 mins the classy flat water made is great to water these big things flick their bodys around in the water not in a big group but skatterd around say a 50m squard area dont know what they were chaseing cause they wernt jumping or anything ( the bait fish)

i recon these fish wer between 5 kg and 10kg + some nice fish

went down the next day and i was armed with my 4lb bream rod to get spooled and my 6500 bait runner ( as my trusty spin ) but they wernt there no where to bee seen lol so i went kiting was great but i wanted a good fish

    Ahhh, Its always the way.

All good though Jake, least you got a kite in.

I spent a long weekend at the pin with some mates a while back hoping to do a couple of all nighters and get amongst some decent fish. It blew its arse out all weekend and i didn't have my kiting gear.

The worst thing was all we caught all weekend was a handful of flatties a few bream and a sole

Next time i will take my gear, just so the wind doesn't pick up. LOL

Is there a way to rig a trolling rod on the kite board?

Dug - you'd be surprised to hear how seriously hard i thought about it when doing a long down winder last summer.

It was after a few mates had had a bit of luck chasing mackeral behind the breakers off bribie. I was going to fit a shitty old reel to a piece of dowel with some zippy ties and put an eye hook at the end of the dowel (as a line guide) stick it in between the straps of my harness and put a 125 grm raider on the end of it.

When i got back to dry land and thought about it i realised how stupid it sounds. Imagine if you caught something decent, trying to keep a kite in the sky and fighting an angry mackeral would be an interesting challenge to say the least. It would be pretty cool to land on the beach with a fish under your arm though.

or even a handling and when ur on go tot hsore land fish
but then the trip home or wait for the others to ge4t u on the way back
wats better a good fish or a 3 hour down winder?
