    Rod for TLD15

    Hi,

I am looking to troll baits and lures around Moreton Bay & a few other places targeting Jew, Tailor and Tuna - so I invested in a TLD15 rather than a baitcaster which I felt was too light. I will be loading it with 8kg fireline + mono backing.

What I need now is a rod. I have about $125 to spend.

I am looking for 6-6.5 foot. I am looking for good quality.

What I need is brand, price and which shop will do the deal.

A couple of shops that I have been to have tried to sell me rods for $500-600 that I just don't have right now.

    Phoenix,

Mate, the line weight for that reel seems a bit light on, I run 30lb braid on mine but I do use it both inshore and offshore, got some nice mackeral inshore last year as well as a couple of kingies off shore, so the reel is pretty versatile.

You will be able to get yourself a nice Ugly stick for that kind of money or one of the cheaper shimano light to medium trolling rods, cant go wrong either way, you need to find what you like in a rod, everyone has their preferences.

Naming places to by seems to be a bit iffy at the moment on this site but one of the bigger sports stores or the larger camping stores will stock them should be able to get away with either for around the $100.00 mark.
