    surf rod blanks

Hi Guys, I want to make a buoy with a flag on it for drift fishing over the same spot so I need to purchase a 12 or 13 foot surf rod blank. Where can I get one? Does anyone know?

    G'day Barney,

The cheapest option would look in the 2nd hand shops for an old surf rod and strip it down. You would prolly pay 15 bucks per rod or less depending on appearances.

A snyder blank would be around the 60-80 dollar mark i would think these days.

most tackle shops would be able to help.. but, if you only want the blank for a flag, maybe the weekend for sale section of local paper or garage sales. buy an old surf rod & cut all the bits off, you can get some old rods pretty cheap..

    whoops, too slow

Most people just use electrical conduit. It is cheaper and stronger
