Help With 27meg Radio

G'day all. I have been given a few old GME 27meg radios that were taken out of old boats. I havent got a radio in my boat cause its only a tinnie that i dont take out far but was thinking about installing one. My question is how many channels do marine radios normally have these days as these are 40 channel but when I was looking in the call sign posts I noticed most use ch 91... Are these radios useless???

that is,,,, channel 91 is actually 27.915 mhz,,,, (from memory),,,

if you've got a 40 channel,,, it wont transmit/receive marine channels

in passing tho' i'm after a cheapie for the 4b,,,, let me know as i have a marine 27mhz in the shed,,,,, maybe worth a swap

G'day Choppa, If you want one it's yours, They are a bit on the old side but should be fine. Theres three of them there, I think I have an ariel somewhere at home to from when I had a really old 27meg in my 4b.

Do they have any brand and model numbers on them? 40Ch would either be 27Mhz CB or UHF cb. The 27Mhz marine does not have 40ch. 86, 88, 90, 91 and so on
