The CATastrophe that happend to this CAT nearly turned it into a CATafalque and no doubt caused momentary CATaplexy and CATar'rh.

And if they are rightly charged the full cost of the search it will CATapult this into the news and be the CATalyst giving them acute monetary CATatonia.

But then this may just be a case of CATachre'sis

Hell. What is it about CATs

was a 4m hobbie, and looking at the guys on the news having the nerve to not disclose 'how they survived' because they wanted money for a story, just emphasises why they should get the fine the deserve for being out there with no safety gear, nav lights. saw the commander of the coastguard giving out about them and so he should. idiots....

I (like most) don't know the full details , but buggerit , i'll have my say . Did they mean the Nav lights were not working before or after it overturned ? I have never thought about putting a set on the underside of my boat , but it would help in the unfortunate event if I was to go arse up .

From the article it appears to have been a hobby cat or other small type cat which is normally used for DAY sailing only. They are not equiped with nav lights or much else for that matter.

The Water Police will probably have some say in this matter if these gentlemen intend to repeat their performance.

Hopefully they have learnt a lesson and IF they return to the water in a similar craft, they may just take some safety features with them. A torch , mirror and whistle would be a start.

I for one would not crucify them for their actions as they have survived their ordeal. Sometimes circumstances demand certain actions.

No life jackets, boat lighting, radio, flares food or water so I am guessing not much else in the way of safety equipment.

A 3.6m cat that left the ramp at 4 pm from Cudgen Creek for a quick sail. Boat cartwheeled not long out and in that 20knt NE not too many people would have been on that stretch of beach to see them, especially at this time of year and that late in the day.

An engineer and a demolition worker, one at least should have known better. Got their story cashed in and are grinning like idiots in the paper. I hope they get the book thrown at em.
