Cania Dam
Howdy All,
Went up to cania last thursday and friday, picked up a lot of nice bass and the odd toga. We found the fish holding up the back of the dam in 3 to 5 feet of water where the sun was shinning accross the water. Best lures were slider grubs rigged on a 1/4 oz nitro jigheads fitted to a no2 nickle betts spin blades, cultiva ripp'n minnows and jackall tn60's. The warmer the day got the bigger the fish caught.

Re: Cania Dam
Ben it would be around 5 1/2 hours from brissy at a guess, but well worth the trip have never really had a bad trip to cania. Had days where we have caught 60 to 70 fish in a morning session 3 in the boat.

Re: Cania Dam
Great report mate. Nice bass and toga, I cant wait to catch my first toga! Do they like the same kinda retrieves as bass?
cheers,
Tim.

Re: Cania Dam
Tim we actually catch the toga while fishing for bass, they eat the same lures and usually take the lure just after it hits the water, but will also hit the lure halfway back to the boat. Just use the same retrieve as you normally would with ripp'n minnows, betts spins, surface lures and jackalls.

Re: Cania Dam
Ben we have only ever caught 4 or 5 yellas but we really only fish for bass and the others are luck of the draw. Have seen people fishing deepdivers picking up a few yellas though.
